Intro

We are a research group developing valuable insights from UX research towards providing unparalleled experience with financial services to clients and members of HFG. We design, conduct, and analyze quantitative and qualitative research on HFG’s clients and employees to derive comprehensive insights. Using this information, we establish and validate hypotheses to provide optimal UX strategies and better UX. As HFG’s representative UX research organization, we also strive to cultivate a UX-conscious working and decision-making culture.

What is
UX?

- UX
User eXperience (UX) refers to the overall experience a user has, shaped by a variety of elements including perceptions, emotions, and behaviors throughout the user’s interaction with external factors. More specifically, UX involves analyzing user interactions with a particular product or service from the user’s perspective and designing the product or service so that it can offer a satisfying experience.
Understanding the thoughts and behaviors of users is critical to creating effective products and services. Having developed theoretical and practical approaches and ways of thinking to better understand users through convergence of a variety of disciplines, UX is recognized as a key competitive edge in creating successful products and services.
- UX Research
UX Research refers to the study of the characteristics of user behavior to enhance understanding of users and derive insights that can be reflected in the improvement of products and services. Based on these insights, UX Research identifies issues that can cause negative user experiences, and proposes solutions to address them. Additionally, it verifies whether the solutions are effective from the perspective of actual users, and works continuously to improve them.
If UX Research is not conducted properly, the product or service may not sufficiently reflect a right understanding about the user. This can lead to poor design decisions or the creation of a product or service that does not meet actual user needs. Therefore, UX Research is essential to understanding the user throughout the entire process of product and service improvement.

- Financial UX
Finance is associated with money, encompassing not only direct forms of economic activity, such as investment and loans, but also economic activities in everyday life. Every service we encounter in our economic activities is inevitably connected to finance, which is why it is necessary to examine it from a UX perspective.
Since finance is about money—which is important to everyone—there are various regulations within the financial industry from financial authorities, such as the Act on the Protection of Financial Consumers, many of which affect the user’s experience with financial products or services. Therefore, UX researchers in finance have a tough task of designing good UX while complying with these regulations.
